The City of Toronto offers a generous rebate program for contributions to City Council and Mayoral campaigns. These contributions are neither tax deductible nor eligible for the tax credit system. Instead, you receive a cheque from the City for the valid portion of your contribution.
Each campaign is responsible for issuing rebate forms to those who contributed to their respective campaigns.
City regulations do not allow the rebate forms to be sent to contributors until the campaign completes its 3rd party financial audit and submits campaign receipts and contribution data to the city.
The Finance Team working with Jennifer expects to send out rebate forms beginning in March 2019. This allows us time to comply with all the financial regulations associated with the audit.
Donor completed forms then must be returned to the City Clerk by 4:30pm, December 30, 2019.
